Teacher's Day

Due to grace of media, now a days we keep hearing only about the atrocious ways teachers have adopted in stuffing our brain. We cannot avoid thinking that they go violent in their punitive measures. May be it is the hangover of the movie " Taare Zameen Pe".But how can we forget that in the same movie it was one teacher who helped a dyslexic child in making a boarding school, a home away from home. Some how we here at XL remembered that thought.5 th September is a day when we get an opportunity to respect those who respect us everyday. As we know, there is no venture which has a smooth sailing, so we had hiccups. Sigorta team had taken up the responsibility to make this event a success. We really dint know the severity of recession in this country until we faced the credit crunch. I wonder if we think twice before spending the same hard earned money on talking hours, on phone with gal frnd, vich may not thrill as much as smoking but definitely kills faster.Secretary of Sigorta did not unbuckle under the pressure and so did the entire team.We showed up that in a team when everybody pulls up we can expect a miracle. Professor Narasimhan of Marketing enjoyed like a baby,we got to see his different face and learnt one thing that your soft corners are admired only if you are excellent in your profession.Other faculties also showed up and we had a blast in the end.Joe pass, the famous guitarist said it very appropriately that "if you hit a wrong note, then make it right by playing what you play afterwards" . We played the right music and every body freaked out on the podium.I am signing off for a short holiday. Godspeed :)

  1. Nice post. It is always good to see people doing new and innovative things. I would like to suggest you a similarly innovative magazine - PEOPLE MATTERS started by an Indian School of Business (ISB)Hyderabad Alumni, which was suggested to me by a friend.

It deals with various important aspects of management, especially those related to Leadership & People Management, which the mainstream business publications often ignore.

It's also relatively cheap. I guess its annual subscription is about Rs. 400 which is even less than the cost of a standard Pizza.

Their last issue had a really educative article by Robert Kaplan (the father of Balanced Scorecard method) where he talks about how organisations can create opportunities out of current economic downturn.

I got its subscription online through their website: http://www.peoplematters.in

If you like the magazine, kindly refer it to others like I am doing.

    Thanks

  4. Hey, the faculty really enjoyed that day and our mission of spending an interactive evening with the esteemed faculty of the renowned institute was successful. It was a team - work and moreover, the entire batch, we can say....It was a great sight when I saw everyone helping us during the decorations of the venue. I then realized that the entire batch is with us. After some ups and downs, almost the whole batch was there during the celebrations except two. It almost turned out to be a mini cultural fest with so many talents coming up in our batch, which, I never even thought of. The dance skit was prepared almost in one night with many twists and turns. One month to go guys.....lets make this course in our lives a memorable one, with more such interactions, whichever form it may be.
