I am a self-proclaimed greatest fan of great "Freddie".I beg your pardon for showing such an exaggerated self opinion of myself but what a fabulous performance at Lords ! It was a treat to watch him winning the test match for his country with one leg, when he was supposed to be sitting inside the dressing room due to injuries. An irrepresible performer with crowd wooing him up, what a moment it would be for any cricketer. Any one who has ever played cricket or even stepped on to the field for a gully match can imagine the kinda of emotions a player goes through if he gets lauded for his heroics on the field. On 20 th July 2009 at Lords, he had crowd roaring behind him with every ball he bowled. He broke the 75 yrs old jinx with a five wicket haul claiming 3 for 43 in 10 overs on the final day. He made a centurian to look ordinary on the final day with his bouncers and later that frustration got him out when he tried an ambitious shot. Punter rightly pointed that with statistics one may not get the feeling about flintoff's contribution to english cricket but the impact he has generated has been tremendous. Recently it has been unopposed by Gilchrist that flintoff terrorised them during 2005 Ashes series.I liked the post-match demeanor shown by England team, it was not a very ostentatious or exhibitionistic celebration but they looked like a unit which is vying for more such wins.Plenty of on and off field drama is yet to be seen and I hope to see more 5 wicket hauls like that. What a comprehensive victory ! but yeh dil maange more :)...Bravo !!
